I thinks it's all a link in a chain. It doesn't matter where it starts but that it starts-in the heart! Then why does it have to start at all? Sin is a lie that, like a seed, plants itself in our hearts and minds and then if fed blossoms into a flesh eating plant. I think that the enemy is clever and starts with the smallest seed possible and then if not dealt with will grow into the tallest tree that has no fruit just poison that is addicting and will grow around you and strangle you and cut you off from God. But Faith even the smallest seed, a mustard seed, can do anything and grow into the biggest tree that unlike that unfruitful fig tree Jesus cursed this one leads to the Tree of Life from which we will all eat someday Revelation 22:2 and 22:14 if we have Faith.
