(USA) Kay; you can best love a partner such as you are describing by having good boundaries. Having good boundaries means that you may have to introduce uncomfortable realities to your partner and for a while life may become even more uncomfortable for every one. In the end thought the effor will be worth it. Try to read the book "Boundaries" by Townsend and Cloud. Good boundaries are often the first thing to go as you try to keep harmony in the relationship. In the long run that will be destructive not only for you but for everyone involved. Remember that just because you love someone you don't automatically have to trust them. They must earn the trust. It is also helpful to remember that the Bible does not command wives to love their husbands but to respect them. It is a cycle. Men recieve respect and give love but when they don't recieve the respect they withdraw their love. The more love they with draw the more respect is lacking so they withdraw even more. Fortunately it is a cycle that can be reversed if both parties are willing to work at it.

(SCOTLAND) How do we love a partner that is malicious, rigid and sometimes makes themselves unlovable especially when there is an argument between them?
