• www.godsknot.com — “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” While planning their own wedding, the founders of this web site realized that there is “an abundance of wedding resources on the internet, but not very many focused on Christian weddings and Christian marriage.” They have designed this site to collect and organize information related to a Christian wedding ceremony. They believe that “a wedding is much more than a day of celebration. As scripture teaches us, it is a miraculous union between God, husband and wife, made possible by our salvation through Christ.”
• www.growthtrac.com This is a web site that is an online resource for Christian marriage, resources, spiritual growth, advice, and community. • Planning Your Christian Wedding Ceremony as posted on About.com. As they say, “A Christian wedding ceremony consists of several elements. These resources are designed to give you a guide for planning and understanding each element of your Christian wedding ceremony. RESOURCE DESCRIPTIONS:
• BRIDAL BARGAINS -by Denise and Alan Fields, published by Windsor Peak Press. This book contains “secrets” to throwing a fantastic wedding on a realistic budget. Some of those bargains would only pertain to the U.S. and to Canada — however there is a lot of information and tips that could work most anywhere throughout the world. They have a lot of web sites listed as well as questions to ask your photographer, clever tips on flowers and invitations, etc. It’s not a Christian book, but it has a lot of good tips regardless. Buy this book now.
• THE COMPLETE BOOK OF CHRISTIAN WEDDING VOWS -by H. Norman Wright, published by Bethany House Publishers. In addition to providing practical advice (”Expect something to go wrong at your wedding!” he tells all couples in premarital counseling), Norm Wright offers tips on writing Christ-centered vows and presents sample wedding prayers from several different Christian denominations. There are the pages filled with examples of other ceremonies, vows, prayers, vows to include others, reaffirmations, etc. and in the chapter on writing your own vows, there is an excellent worksheet. • THE CHRISTIAN WEDDING PLANNER by Ruth Muzzy and R. Kent Hughes, published by Tyndale House Publishers. In a revision of this popular comprehensive book, it includes updated information, expanded budget and ceremony guides, additional work sheets, and a convenient comb binding. This isn’t a book about different wedding “ideas” (”how to arrange the tablecloths”, “how to deal with new in-laws”, etc.) It is a “GO-TO” resource on the actual planning of the ceremony/celebration. It gives template sheets and other helpful information you will find helpful.
