(SOUTH AFRICA) Hi, One of the things I read was about was the callings of husbands. One of the statements made there was that we should allow our wives to influence us. I am struggling with that as my wife is quite emotional and quite often looks at people or issues from a perspective I am uncomfortable with as a Christian.

My father was greatly influenced by my mum ,both were born-again Christians ,so this concept is something I have no problem with. While I don't openly disregard her views I always check first in my heart before making a final decision. Sometimes we are in agreement other times I am very different. I have found that in the past all the blame for bad decision has been my fault and all praise for the good decision has been hers.

I honestly pray I will get to a place where I trust my wife to speak the truth, hence believe and allow her influence.

(SOUTH AFRICA) I am also in my late 30’s but in my second marriage. The first was without the leading of God – that’s why I believed it was one of the reasons that it failed. The second started and is still growing under God’s leadership. Yes, it is not easy, but with God’s guidance things make so much more sense.

I now know, at least, what is expected from a husband and I am trying to do what is expected from me as a husband. I am not perfect (just ask my wife), but I believe it is the direction we pick that is more important. I would rather pick God’s way and struggle and know that He supports me than picking the world’s way and miss the whole point completely.

(SINGAPORE) I've recently married, after being single and have not had a serious relationship before (I'm in my late 30's). It's definitely tough adjusting to life with someone else. It changes my whole perspective of life as well as my relationship with others. It's also tough trying to be a husband as God intended.
